About
Throughline Technical Services LLC is a one-person shop in Portland, Oregon that publishes open-source and community software.
It started as a container for research and independent work. What it turned into is the place the community projects live: the licenses, the trademarks, the GitHub org, and the domains.
Who "we" is
Right now, mostly me, plus whoever shows up. The plural is aspirational and the invitation is real.
Two threads
Software for shared resources, built so a neighborhood can run its own copy without a platform in the middle. And developer tooling that keeps automation deterministic, reviewable, and under human control.
What it is not
A consultancy. Throughline is not selling engineering services.
About Dan
I am Dan Richardson, a Portland software engineer. I started in manufacturing engineering, then moved through water systems, aviation, medical devices, logistics, wearable technology, and clinical diagnostics. The domains changed. The work stayed recognizable: learn how the system really works, listen to the people inside it, and build the thing that removes the friction.
I started Throughline to give independent work a durable home. It is where I can publish useful software, follow a question far enough to learn something, and leave the result open for somebody else to use when the work can be public.
